Innovation & Engineering Day at the University of West Attica
The “Innovation & Engineering Day” was successfully held at the University of West Attica, in collaboration with IEEE SB UniWA.
Organized by KSA (KALAMARAKIS AUTOMATION & ENERGY & ELERGON INDUSTRIAL SOLUTIONS), the initiative reaffirmed our ongoing commitment to building meaningful connections with the academic community and the next generation of engineers.
Bridging engineering with industrial reality
The event was designed as a practical introduction to today’s industrial environment.
Teams from Commercial, Technical, and HR jointly presented:
- the scope of KSA’s activities
- its role as a technology partner to industry
- and the way industrial applications are supported in practice
The focus remained on real-world requirements, reliability, and long-term collaboration.
From theory to practice
During the sessions, we presented how KSA translates technology into practical and applicable solutions through a structured approach:
- needs analysis and technical assessment
- solution design and proof of concept
- implementation support and knowledge transfer
This approach was supported by real-life applications in areas such as:
- automation systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA)
- machine vision and quality control
- motion & drives and energy-related applications
The Role of the Modern Engineer
A key part of the discussion focused on the role of engineers in modern industrial environments.
Through practical examples, it became clear that engineers today operate:
- as problem solvers in demanding production conditions
- as a link between technology and business requirements
- as part of multidisciplinary teams that ensure operational continuity
At the same time, the HR session highlighted the importance of soft skills, such as communication, adaptability, and a willingness for continuous learning, as critical factors for professional development.
Meaningful Exchange of Experience
Active participation from students and graduates was one of the most valuable aspects of the day.
Through open discussions with the KSA team, participants had the opportunity to:
- explore the real challenges of the market
- better understand industry expectations
- discuss their next professional steps
The overall response was particularly positive, underlining the value of direct, honest, and experience-based communication.
Investing in the Future of Industry
This initiative is part of KSA’s broader strategy to maintain an active presence in the academic ecosystem and to build long-term relationships with future engineers.
Our goal is to contribute to a stronger connection between education and industry, based on technical expertise, reliability, and long-term collaboration.
